Reifenplatzer (engl. tire blowout / sudden tire deflation)

Definition

Plötzlicher Druckverlust eines Reifens während der Fahrt. Ein schleichender Druckverlust ist nicht gemeint.
Interessant ist (neben anderen Aspekten) für den Unfallanalytiker die transiente Reaktion des Fahrzeuges (bzgl. Fahrwerk, Fahrdynamik, elektronischer Systeme wie ESC) und des Fahrers. Meist ist ein Reifenplatzer an der gelenkten Vorderachse besser beherrschbar als eine plötzliche Entlüftung an einem Hinterreifen. Mit der richtigen Reaktion des Fahrers lässt sich ein Reifenplatzer an der Hinterachse in den meisten Fällen auch beherrschen.
Eine Laufflächenablösung (engl. tread separation) ist in Europa hauptsächlich bei runderneuerten Nutzfahrzeugreifen (retreated tire) zu beobachten, aber die Auswirkungen auf die Fahrdynamik sind ähnlich, weshalb die Literaturquellen hierzu ebenfalls aufgeführt sind.
