Version vom 19. Mai 2009, 08:59 Uhr

In 2009, the EVU Annual Meeting and the ITAI International Conference will be combined. The EVU-ITAI Conference will be from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September 2009. It will be held at the Hinckley Island Hotel, near Hinckley, Leicestershire. You can see details of the hotel at http://www.barcelo-hotels.co.uk/hotels/central-england/barcelo-hinckley-island-hotel The nearest airports are Birmingham International and Nottingham East Midlands.

On Friday we will have a "field day" which will take place on the test track at MIRA (Motor Industry Research Association), 9 km from the hotel. We have not yet decided what we will do there, but at the moment we are considering demonstrations of modern control and stability systems - electronic stability control, automatic hazard detection and braking etc. However we would be very happy to receive suggestions from EVU members.

The conference will be held on Saturday and Sunday. Persons attending the meeting will be able to choose whether they come to both the field day and the conference or the conference only, and the amount they have to pay will vary accordingly.

At the same time as the conference we will have an exhibition of products and services, and we already have exhibitors interested.

Preliminary Programme

Main topics for the conference will be

  • Nighttime (pedestrian) accidents, problems of visual perception at night
  • Roll-over accidents

These topics will be treated in the morning sessions, while the afternoon session will be open to any topic.
