Studium des Allgemeinen Maschinenbaus an der RWTH Aachen mit Schwerpunkt auf Simulation, Regelungstechnik und Numerische Mathematik. Seit 1988 ist er als Unfallanalytiker tätig, zunächst im Ingenieurbüro Schimmelpfennig + Becke, ab 1998 dann mit eigenem Büro. Etliche Veröffentlichungen, teils auf internationalen Tagungen, meist zu theoretischen Aspekten der Unfallrekonstruktion. 1999 leitete er ein Seminar in Bogotá, in dem sämtlich Unfallanalytiker Kolumbiens geschult wurden. Seit 2003 ist er stellvertretender Europa-Vorsitzender des EVU. 2006 hat er ein zweibändiges deutschsprachiges Fachbuch zur Unfallrekonstruktion herausgegeben.
