Ladungssicherung wird in Deutschland auf sehr hohem Niveau betrieben. Schwere Straßenverkehrsunfälle infolge unzureichend gesicherter Ladung sind selten. In der Öffentlichkeit wird aber nach wie vor über vermeintliche Missstände berichtet, die bei Polizeikontrollen auffallen. Das für die Straßenverkehrssicherheit relevante Problem – die richtige Lastverteilung auf der Ladefläche des Fahrzeuges – wird in der Regel nicht erkannt. Crashes due to incorrect distribution of cargo
The quality of cargo securing undertaken in Germany is very high. Serious road accidents due to insufficiently secured cargo are seldom. This is borne out among other things by the statistical findings of the insurance branch. In contrast to this favourable trend, reporting for public consumption continues to pick out assumed deficits revealed by police checks. This leads to a distorted picture and the actually existing problems for road safety fail as a rule to be recognised. These concern the distribution of load on the cargo surface of the vehicle. The correct distribution of the cargo is, however, a key aspect in the proper securing of the cargo and road safety. The paper examines real-life accidents involving several fatalities that were reconstructed by the accident analysts at the Dekra Branch in Bielefeld.
