Für den adaptiven Tempomaten (ACC), Spurhalteassistent, Abstandswarner (Forward Collision Warning), Totwinkelassistent oder die Notbremsfunktion sind Radar- und Kamerasysteme im Fahrzeug unentbehrliche Voraussetzung. Die ursprüngliche Militärtechnik findet seit etwa 1999 auch im Automobil Verwendung. Ein Gespräch bei Delphi in Wuppertal mit Dr. rer. nat. Radar systems in the car provide more safety and convenience functionality
Radar and camera systems in the vehicle are an indispensable prerequisite for such functions as adapative cruise control (ACC), lane departure warning, distance alert, blind spot detection and emergency braking. What was originally military technology has also been used in cars since around 1999. The paper shows the current state of radar technology in the car and gives an outlook on future sensor developments.
